المختبر المحال إليه هو مختبر خارجي يرسل إليه المختبر عينات لتحاليل لا يجريها بنفسه، مثل الزمر النسيجية أو بعض الهرمونات النادرة. يبقى المختبر المحيل مسؤولاً عن اختياره وتقييم أدائه وعن نقل العينات بشروط سليمة وإيصال النتيجة الصحيحة للطبيب.
Definition
A referral laboratory is an external laboratory to which specimens are sent for tests the referring lab does not perform, such as tissue typing or some rare hormones. The referring laboratory remains responsible for selecting and monitoring it, for shipping samples under proper conditions and for passing the correct result to the clinician.
