التعريف
منح الشهادة هو تأكيد جهة خارجية بأن نظام الإدارة في منشأة ما يطابق مواصفة معينة، وأشهر أمثلته شهادة ISO 9001. تثبت الشهادة أن النظام الإداري منظم، لكنها لا تقيّم صحة نتيجة الهيموغلوبين أو كفاءة الفنيين، ولذلك تُطلب للمختبرات الطبية عادةً الاعتماد وفق ISO 15189.
Definition
Certification is confirmation by an outside body that an organisation's management system conforms to a given standard, the best known example being ISO 9001 certification. It shows the management system is organised, but it does not judge whether a haemoglobin result is correct or staff are competent, which is why medical laboratories usually seek ISO 15189 accreditation.
