جهة الاعتماد هي هيئة ذات سلطة تقيّم المختبرات وتمنحها الاعتماد، وتعمل هي نفسها وفق المواصفة ISO/IEC 17011. تعترف الجهات الأعضاء في اتفاقية ILAC للاعتراف المتبادل باعتماد بعضها، فتُقبل نتائج المختبر المعتمد خارج بلده بسهولة أكبر.
Definition
An accreditation body is an authoritative organisation that assesses laboratories and grants accreditation, and it operates itself under ISO/IEC 17011. Bodies that sign the ILAC mutual recognition arrangement recognise each other's accreditations, so results from an accredited laboratory are more readily accepted outside its own country.
