المواصفة ISO 9001 هي معيار عام لأنظمة إدارة الجودة يصلح لأي منظمة، من المصنع إلى الفندق، وتمنح بموجبه جهات الإشهاد شهادة للمطابقة. الفرق عن ISO 15189 أن الأخيرة خاصة بالمختبرات الطبية وتقيّم الكفاءة الفنية وصحة النتائج، لذلك قد يحمل المختبر شهادة ISO 9001 دون أن يثبت دقة تحاليله.
Definition
ISO 9001 is a general standard for quality management systems that applies to any organisation, from a factory to a hotel, and certification bodies issue certificates of conformity against it. Unlike ISO 15189, which is specific to medical laboratories and assesses technical competence and result validity, an ISO 9001 certificate does not show that a lab's results are accurate.
