الإجراء التشغيلي الموحد هو وثيقة مضبوطة تشرح خطوة بخطوة كيف تُنفَّذ عملية محددة في المختبر، مثل تمرير عينات الكهارل على جهاز معيّن أو رفض العينة غير المطابقة. وجوده يجعل كل موظف يعمل بالطريقة نفسها في كل مناوبة، ويُراجع دورياً ويُحدَّث عند تغيير الكاشف أو الجهاز.

A standard operating procedure is a controlled document that sets out step by step how a specific laboratory process is carried out, such as running electrolytes on a given analyzer or rejecting a nonconforming specimen. It means every staff member works the same way on every shift, and it is reviewed periodically and updated when the reagent or instrument changes.
