الانحراف المعياري مقياس لتشتت القيم حول متوسطها، وهو الجذر التربيعي للتباين. في التوزيع الطبيعي تقع نحو 95% من نتائج الكونترول ضمن ±2 انحراف معياري من المتوسط، وعلى هذا تُبنى حدود الضبط وقواعد ويستغارد.
Definition
The standard deviation measures how widely values scatter around their mean and is the square root of the variance. In a normal distribution about 95% of control results fall within ±2 SD of the mean, which is the basis of control limits and Westgard rules.
