التعريف
التباين هو متوسط مربعات انحرافات القيم عن متوسطها، ووحدته مربع وحدة القياس، وجذره التربيعي هو الانحراف المعياري. ميزته أن التباينات المستقلة تُجمع مباشرة، فيُجمع تباين ما ضمن السلسلة وتباين ما بين السلاسل للحصول على الإحكام الكلي داخل المختبر.
Definition
Variance is the average of the squared deviations of values from their mean, in squared units, and its square root is the SD. Independent variances add directly, so within-run and between-run variances are summed to give total within-laboratory precision.
