التعريف
الوسيط هو القيمة التي تقع في منتصف البيانات بعد ترتيبها تصاعدياً، فنصف القيم أقل منه ونصفها أكبر. لا يتأثر كثيراً بالقيم الشاذة، ولذلك يُستعمل في حساب زمن التسليم وقيم الإجماع في التقييم الخارجي وفي البيانات غير المتناظرة مثل مستويات الهرمونات.
Definition
The median is the middle value of the data once sorted in ascending order, with half the values below it and half above. Outliers barely affect it, so it is used for turnaround time, EQA consensus values and skewed data such as hormone levels.
