معامل التحديد هو مربع معامل الارتباط، ويعبّر عن نسبة التغير في أحد المتغيرين التي يفسرها الخط المستقيم. تستعمله برامج الأجهزة لتقييم منحنى المعايرة أو الخطية، فقيمة 0.999 تعني علاقة خطية قوية، لكنها لا تكشف انحيازاً ثابتاً أو تناسبياً.
Definition
The coefficient of determination is the square of the correlation coefficient and gives the share of variation in one variable explained by the straight line. Analyser software uses it to judge calibration curves and linearity, where 0.999 means a strong linear relationship, yet it cannot reveal constant or proportional bias.
