معامل الارتباط r يقيس قوة العلاقة الخطية بين متغيرين، وتتراوح قيمته بين -1 و+1. في مقارنة الطرق لا يدل r المرتفع على اتفاق الطريقتين، فطريقتان بينهما فرق 20% قد تعطيان r = 0.99، لكنه يفيد في الحكم على كفاية مجال التراكيز لاستعمال الانحدار العادي.
Definition
The correlation coefficient r measures the strength of the linear relationship between two variables, ranging from -1 to +1. In method comparison a high r does not show agreement, since two methods 20% apart can still give r = 0.99, but it helps judge whether the concentration range is wide enough for ordinary regression.
