السائل الرائق المتبقي بعد تخثر الدم وطرده مركزياً، ولذلك يخلو من الفيبرينوجين ومعظم عوامل التخثر. هو العينة المعتادة لمعظم تحاليل الكيمياء والمناعة. يكون بوتاسيوم المصل أعلى قليلاً من بوتاسيوم البلازما لأن الصفيحات تحرر البوتاسيوم أثناء التخثر، لذلك يجب أن يطابق المجال المرجعي نوع العينة.
Definition
The clear fluid left after blood has clotted and been centrifuged, so it lacks fibrinogen and most clotting factors. It is the standard sample for most chemistry and immunoassay tests. Serum potassium runs slightly higher than plasma potassium because platelets release potassium during clotting, so the reference interval must match the sample type.
