مادة مضافة إلى الأنبوب تمنع تخثر الدم، إما بربط الكالسيوم مثل EDTA والسترات والأوكسالات، وإما بتعزيز عمل مضاد الثرومبين مثل الهيبارين. لكل تحليل مانع تخثر محدد، فالـEDTA للتعداد والسترات للتخثر، والأنبوب الخاطئ يفسد النتيجة، كما يحدث عند انتقال EDTA الذي يخفض الكالسيوم ويرفع البوتاسيوم.
Definition
A tube additive that prevents blood from clotting, either by binding calcium (EDTA, citrate, oxalate) or by enhancing antithrombin (heparin). Each test needs a specific anticoagulant. EDTA is used for the blood count and citrate for coagulation, and the wrong tube spoils the result, as when EDTA carryover lowers calcium and raises potassium.
