التعريف
تخزين العينات بعد تحليلها مدة محددة وعلى حرارة محددة لإمكانية إعادة تحليلها أو إضافة تحاليل عليها أو فحصها ضمن تحقيق. يشترط ISO 15189 توثيق مدد الحفظ. تعتمد المدة على نوع العينة، فقد تُحفظ لطاخات الدم والقوالب النسيجية مدة أطول بكثير من المصل الروتيني.
Definition
Storing tested specimens for a defined period and at a defined temperature so they can be retested, used for add-on tests or examined during an investigation. ISO 15189 requires retention times to be documented. Retention depends on sample type, for example blood films and tissue blocks may be kept far longer than routine serum.
