المادة المرجعية مادة متجانسة ومستقرة بما يكفي في خاصية أو أكثر، ثبتت ملاءمتها لاستعمال محدد في القياس. تُستعمل لتقييم صحة الطريقة أو للمعايرة أو لضبط الجودة، فعينات التقييم الخارجي مثلاً مواد مرجعية صُنعت للمقارنة بين المختبرات.
Definition
A reference material is a material sufficiently homogeneous and stable in one or more properties and shown to be fit for its intended use in measurement. It is used to assess trueness, to calibrate or for quality control, and EQA samples, for instance, are reference materials made for comparing laboratories.
