التأكد قبل جمع العينة من أن المريض هو الشخص المذكور في الطلب، باستخدام معرّفين على الأقل مثل الاسم الكامل وتاريخ الميلاد، مع الطلب من المريض أن يذكرهما بنفسه. تعد عينة المريض الخطأ من أخطر أخطاء ما قبل التحليل لأن نتيجتها تبدو معقولة.
Definition
Confirming before collection that the patient is the person named on the request, using at least two identifiers such as full name and date of birth, and asking the patient to state them aloud. Wrong-patient samples are among the most dangerous preanalytical errors because the result looks plausible.
