عينة لا تكفي كميتها للتحاليل المطلوبة، ويُشار إليها غالباً بالاختصار QNS. تكون المشكلة خطيرة في أنابيب السترات لأن نقص الملء يغير نسبة الدم إلى مانع التخثر. عند نقص الحجم يحلل المختبر وفق أولوية موثقة متفق عليها مع الأطباء ويطلب عينة جديدة للتحاليل الباقية.
Definition
A specimen with too little material for the requested tests, often reported as QNS (quantity not sufficient). It is a serious problem in citrate tubes, where underfilling changes the blood to anticoagulant ratio. When volume is short, the lab tests in a documented priority order agreed with clinicians and requests a recollection for the rest.
