سجل موثق بكل من تداول العينة منذ جمعها حتى إتلافها، مع التواريخ والأوقات والتواقيع، لإثبات سلامتها. يلزم في الأعمال ذات الطابع القانوني مثل تحري المخدرات في أماكن العمل وتحليل الكحول وقضايا إثبات النسب. أي ثغرة في السجل قد تجعل النتيجة غير مقبولة أمام القضاء.
Definition
A documented record of everyone who handled a specimen, from collection to disposal, with dates, times and signatures, so its integrity can be proven. It is required for forensic work such as workplace drug testing, alcohol testing and paternity cases. A gap in the record can make a result unusable in court.
