التعريف
الاختبار هو إجراء محدد يُطلب لمريض ويعطي نتيجة واحدة أو مجموعة نتائج، مثل تحليل سكر الصيام أو وظائف الكلية. يستعمل الأطباء والمرضى هذه الكلمة للدلالة على ما يُطلب في الاستمارة، بينما تُسمّى الطريقة التقنية التي تنفّذه مقايسة أو إجراء قياس.
Definition
A test is a defined procedure ordered for a patient that returns one result or a set of results, such as fasting glucose or a kidney function panel. Doctors and patients use the word for what appears on the request form, while the technical method behind it is called an assay or measurement procedure.
