الجزيء الذي يؤثر فيه الإنزيم ويحوله إلى ناتج. في تحاليل فعالية الإنزيمات مثل ALT وALP يحتوي الكاشف على الركازة بكمية زائدة كي تعكس سرعة التفاعل كمية الإنزيم، وفي العينات شديدة الارتفاع تنفد الركازة فتظهر نتيجة منخفضة زيفاً ما لم تُمدد العينة.
Definition
The molecule an enzyme acts on and converts into a product. In enzyme activity tests such as ALT or ALP the reagent supplies substrate in excess so the reaction rate reflects the enzyme amount, and in very high samples the substrate runs out, giving falsely low results unless the sample is diluted.
