التعليمات التي يتبعها المريض قبل جمع العينة لتعكس النتائج حالته الحقيقية، مثل الصيام وتجنب الجهد البدني الشديد وتوقيت العينة بعد جرعة الدواء وجمع بول الصباح الأول. مثلاً قد تتداخل مكملات البيوتين عالية الجرعة مع بعض التحاليل المناعية، فيُطلب من المريض إيقافها قبل تحاليل الدرق.
Definition
The instructions a patient follows before collection so results reflect their true state, such as fasting, avoiding heavy exercise, timing a sample after a drug dose or collecting a first morning urine. For example, high-dose biotin supplements can interfere with some immunoassays, so patients may be asked to stop them before thyroid tests.
