نسبة الاحتمال تبين مقدار تغيير نتيجة التحليل لأرجحية وجود المرض، وتُحسب النسبة الإيجابية بقسمة الحساسية على (1 - النوعية). لا تعتمد على نسبة الانتشار بخلاف القيم التنبؤية، والنسبة الإيجابية التي تتجاوز 10 تحدث عادة فرقاً كبيراً في التشخيص.
Definition
A likelihood ratio expresses how much a test result changes the odds of disease, with the positive ratio calculated as sensitivity divided by (1 - specificity). Unlike predictive values it does not depend on prevalence, and a positive likelihood ratio above 10 usually makes a large difference to diagnosis.
