الطب المخبري هو الاختصاص الطبي الذي يستعمل تحاليل الدم وسوائل الجسم والأنسجة لدعم التشخيص والعلاج، ويضم الكيمياء السريرية وأمراض الدم والأحياء الدقيقة والمناعة والبيولوجيا الجزيئية. يعتمد كثير من القرارات الطبية على نتيجة مخبرية، لذلك تنعكس جودة عمل المختبر مباشرة على علاج المريض.
Definition
Laboratory medicine is the medical specialty that uses analysis of blood, body fluids and tissues to support diagnosis and treatment. It covers clinical chemistry, haematology, microbiology, immunology and molecular biology. Many clinical decisions rest on a laboratory result, so the quality of lab work feeds straight into patient care.
