استجابة المقايسة لمادة غير المادة المقصودة، وتكون عادة جزيئاً مشابهاً في البنية. فبعض مقايسات الكورتيزول المناعية تتفاعل مع البريدنيزولون، لذلك قد يظهر لدى المريض الذي يتناول الستيروئيدات كورتيزول مرتفع زيفاً.
Definition
The response of an assay to a substance other than the intended analyte, usually a structurally similar molecule. Some cortisol immunoassays, for example, react with prednisolone, so a patient taking steroids can show a falsely high cortisol result.
