عينة في أنبوب يحتوي مانع تخثر تظهر فيها خثرات، وسببها عادةً بطء الملء أو ضعف المزج بعد الجمع. تستهلك الخثرات الصفيحات وعوامل التخثر، فتعطي عينة EDTA المتخثرة تعداد صفيحات منخفضاً كاذباً، ولا تصلح عينة السترات المتخثرة لزمن البروثرومبين أو APTT. تُرفض هذه العينات.
Definition
A specimen in an anticoagulant tube that contains clots, usually from slow filling or poor mixing after collection. Clots consume platelets and clotting factors, so a clotted EDTA sample gives a falsely low platelet count and a clotted citrate sample is unsuitable for PT or APTT. Such samples are rejected.
