القيمة الحقيقية هي قيمة الكمية التي يعطيها قياس مثالي خالٍ من الخطأ، وهي مفهوم نظري لا يمكن معرفته بدقة كاملة. يستعمل المختبر في مكانها قيمة مرجعية، مثل القيمة المعتمدة لمادة مرجعية موثقة أو قيمة الإجماع في التقييم الخارجي.
Definition
The true value is the value of a quantity that a perfect, error-free measurement would give, and it is a theoretical concept that can never be known exactly. In practice labs use a reference value in its place, such as the certified value of a reference material or the consensus value in EQA.
