قياس الكاشف دون عينة، بوضع ماء أو محلول ملحي مكانها، لتسجيل الإشارة التي يعطيها الكاشف وحده. يطرح الجهاز هذه القيمة من قراءات العينات، وارتفاع امتصاصية الناصع مع الأيام إنذار بتلف الكاشف أو تلوثه.
Definition
A measurement of the reagent without sample, with water or saline in its place, that records the signal the reagent gives by itself. The analyzer subtracts it from sample readings, and a reagent blank absorbance that rises over days warns of reagent deterioration or contamination.
