المدى هو الفرق بين أكبر قيمة وأصغر قيمة في مجموعة البيانات. تقوم عليه قاعدة R-4s التي ترفض السلسلة إذا تجاوز الفرق بين نتيجتي كونترول 4 انحرافات معيارية، لكنه وحده مقياس ضعيف للتشتت لأنه يعتمد على قيمتين فقط.
Definition
The range is the difference between the largest and smallest values in a data set. It underlies the R-4s rule, which rejects a run when the difference between two control results exceeds 4 SD, but on its own it is a weak measure of spread because it depends on only two values.
