النتيجة الإيجابية نتيجة تحليل تدل على وجود المادة المستهدفة أو الحالة، أو على أن القيمة تقع فوق قيمة القطع. يعتمد معناها على النوعية التشخيصية للتحليل وعلى مدى انتشار الحالة، لذلك يجب تأكيد النتيجة الإيجابية لتحليل تحرٍّ في فئة منخفضة الخطورة قبل التشخيص.
Definition
A positive result is a test outcome indicating that the target analyte or condition is present, or that a value lies above the cutoff. Its meaning depends on the test's specificity and on how common the condition is, so a positive screening result in a low-risk group should be confirmed before diagnosis.
