النتيجة السلبية نتيجة تحليل تدل على عدم وجود المادة المستهدفة أو الحالة، أو على أن القيمة تقع تحت قيمة القطع. لا تستبعد المرض دائماً، فقد تغيب الأضداد في فترة النافذة بعد العدوى بوقت قصير، لذلك يهم السياق السريري وتوقيت أخذ العينة.
Definition
A negative result is a test outcome indicating that the target analyte or condition was not found, or that a value lies below the cutoff. It does not always exclude disease, for example antibodies may be absent in the window period soon after infection, so clinical context and sample timing matter.
