التعريف
المتوسط الحسابي هو مجموع القيم مقسوماً على عددها، ويمثل مركز البيانات. يُستعمل في المختبر خطاً مركزياً لمخطط الكونترول، فإذا كان مجموع 20 نتيجة كونترول غلوكوز 104 mmol/L فمتوسطها 5.2 mmol/L. يتأثر بالقيم الشاذة، لذلك تُستبعد القيم المرفوضة قبل الحساب.
Definition
The mean is the sum of values divided by their number and represents the centre of the data. In the lab it forms the centre line of the control chart, so 20 glucose control results summing to 104 mmol/L give a mean of 5.2 mmol/L. Outliers pull it, so rejected values are excluded before calculating.
