التعريف
التشخيص المخبري هو الوصول إلى تشخيص حالة المريض أو تأكيده أو استبعاده اعتمادًا على نتائج التحاليل التي يجريها المخبر على عيناته. يعتمد جزء كبير من القرارات الطبية على هذه النتائج، مثل تأكيد السكري بقياس الخضاب السكري أو تحديد الجرثوم المسبب لإنتان بولي بالزرع، لذلك تؤثر جودة المخبر مباشرة في صحة التشخيص.
Definition
Laboratory diagnosis is reaching, confirming or excluding a diagnosis on the basis of tests the laboratory performs on patient samples. A large share of medical decisions rest on these results, such as confirming diabetes with HbA1c or identifying the organism behind a urinary infection by culture, so laboratory quality feeds straight into diagnostic accuracy.
