النتيجة غير القابلة للحسم هي التي لا يمكن تفسيرها كإيجابية أو سلبية حتى بعد اكتمال التحليل، وغالباً لأن نمط الاختبار التأكيدي غير مكتمل. من الأمثلة المعروفة ظهور شريط واحد في لطخة ويسترن أو المقايسة المناعية الخطية لفيروس HIV، وهذا يتطلب متابعة بتحاليل لاحقة.
Definition
An indeterminate result is one that cannot be interpreted as positive or negative even after testing is complete, often because the pattern of a confirmatory test is incomplete. An HIV western blot or line immunoassay showing a single band is a classic example and needs follow-up testing.
