الارتياب الموسّع هو الارتياب المعياري مضروباً في معامل تغطية، غالباً 2، ليعطي مجالاً حول النتيجة يحوي القيمة الحقيقية باحتمال يقارب 95%. فإذا كان الارتياب المعياري للغلوكوز 0.15 mmol/L والنتيجة 7.0 فالنتيجة تُكتب 7.0 ± 0.3 mmol/L.
Definition
Expanded uncertainty is the standard uncertainty multiplied by a coverage factor, usually 2, giving an interval around the result that contains the true value with about 95% probability. With a glucose standard uncertainty of 0.15 mmol/L, a result of 7.0 is reported as 7.0 ± 0.3 mmol/L.
