النتيجة الملتبسة هي التي تقع في المنطقة الرمادية قرب قيمة القطع، فلا يمكن وصفها بوضوح بأنها إيجابية أو سلبية بهذا التحليل. يجب أن يذكر التقرير ذلك صراحة وأن يوصي بالخطوة التالية، كتكرار التحليل على عينة جديدة بعد فترة مناسبة أو إحالتها للتأكيد.
Definition
An equivocal result is one that falls in the gray zone near the cutoff, so that test cannot call it clearly positive or negative. The report should say so plainly and advise the next step, such as repeating on a new sample after a suitable interval or referral for confirmation.
