الخطأ المنهجي الحرج هو مقدار الانزياح المنهجي، بوحدات الانحراف المعياري، الذي يجعل 5% من النتائج تتجاوز الخطأ الكلي المسموح، ويُحسب بالمعادلة ((الخطأ المسموح - القيمة المطلقة للانحياز) ÷ الانحراف المعياري) - 1.65. يبين للمختبر حجم الخطأ الذي يجب أن تكشفه قواعد الضبط، ويساوي مقياس سيغما مطروحاً منه 1.65.
Definition
The critical systematic error is the size of systematic shift, in SD units, that would cause 5% of results to exceed the total allowable error, calculated as ((TEa - |bias|) / SD) - 1.65. It tells the lab how large an error its QC rules must catch, and it equals the sigma metric minus 1.65.
