ترفض قاعدة 4-1s عندما تتجاوز أربع نتائج كونترول متتالية حد الانحراف المعياري الواحد نفسه في الجهة نفسها من المتوسط، عبر المستويات أو الدورات أو كليهما. تلتقط أخطاء منهجية أصغر، كتدهور الكاشف البطيء، قبل وصولها إلى حدود الانحرافين. وتعتمدها بعض المختبرات كإنذار يستدعي الصيانة أو إعادة المعايرة.
Definition
The 4-1s rule rejects when four consecutive control results exceed the same 1 SD limit on the same side of the mean, across levels, runs or both. It catches smaller systematic errors, such as slow reagent deterioration, before they reach the 2 SD limits. Some labs treat it as a warning that triggers maintenance or recalibration.
