فرط تنسج الكظر الخلقي مجموعة اضطرابات وراثية في تصنيع الكورتيزول، أشيعها عوز إنزيم 21 هيدروكسيلاز. يقيس المخبر 17 هيدروكسي بروجسترون (17-OHP) في التحري الوليدي وفي التشخيص، وترتفع قيمته كاذبًا عند الخدج والولدان المرضى، لذلك تُفسر النتيجة حسب عمر الحمل وزمن أخذ العينة، وقد تُؤكد بالتحاليل الجزيئية.
Definition
Congenital adrenal hyperplasia is a group of inherited defects in cortisol synthesis, most often 21-hydroxylase deficiency. The laboratory measures 17-hydroxyprogesterone (17-OHP) for newborn screening and diagnosis. Values run falsely high in preterm and sick newborns, so results are read against gestational age and sampling time, and molecular testing can confirm the diagnosis.
