التحري الاستقلابي لحديثي الولادة تحليل بقعة دم مجففة من كعب الوليد على ورق ترشيح خاص، لكشف أمراض خلقية قابلة للعلاج قبل ظهور أعراضها. يشمل عادة بيلة الفينيل كيتون وقصور الدرق الخلقي وفرط تنسج الكظر الخلقي، ويستخدم مطيافية الكتلة الترادفية لعشرات الاضطرابات، ويؤثر توقيت أخذ العينة وجودة تشبع البقعة في النتيجة.
Definition
Neonatal metabolic screening tests a dried blood spot from the baby's heel on special filter paper to find treatable congenital disorders before symptoms appear. It usually covers phenylketonuria, congenital hypothyroidism and congenital adrenal hyperplasia, with tandem mass spectrometry for many more disorders. Sampling time and proper saturation of the spot affect the result.
