معامل الاختلاف هو الانحراف المعياري مقسوماً على المتوسط ومضروباً في 100، أي التشتت كنسبة مئوية. يسمح بمقارنة الإحكام بين مستويات وتحاليل مختلفة، فانحراف معياري 0.1 mmol/L على متوسط 5.0 يعطي CV قدره 2%، ثم يُقارن بالحد المقبول لذلك التحليل.
Definition
The coefficient of variation is the SD divided by the mean and multiplied by 100, expressing scatter as a percentage. It allows precision to be compared across levels and tests, so an SD of 0.1 mmol/L at a mean of 5.0 gives a CV of 2%, which is then judged against that test's allowable limit.
