اختبار التحري تحليل يُجرى لأشخاص بلا أعراض أو كخطوة أولى لتحديد من يُرجح إصابتهم بحالة ما ويحتاجون استقصاء إضافياً. يُفضَّل فيه ارتفاع الحساسية، لذلك تحتاج النتائج المتفاعلة إلى تأكيد، كما في تحري HBsAg قبل الزواج أو لدى المتبرعين بالدم.
Definition
A screening test is an examination applied to people without symptoms, or as a first step, to identify those likely to have a condition and needing further investigation. It favours high sensitivity, so reactive results, for example in premarital or blood donor screening for HBsAg, need confirmation.
