التحليل النوعي هو تحليل يعطي نتيجة من فئتين أو أكثر دون رقم، مثل إيجابي أو سلبي، كاختبار الحمل أو التحري السريع عن المستضد السطحي لالتهاب الكبد B. يُقيَّم أداؤه بالحساسية والنوعية ونسبة الاتفاق مع طريقة مرجعية، ويُراقب بكونترول إيجابي وآخر سلبي.
Definition
A qualitative test gives a result in two or more categories without a number, such as positive or negative, as in a pregnancy test or a rapid hepatitis B surface antigen test. Its performance is judged by sensitivity, specificity and agreement with a reference method, and it is monitored with a positive and a negative control.
