مادة تحتوي الهدف بمستوى معروف وتمر بكل خطوات التحليل لتثبت أن المقايسة قادرة على كشفه. في التحاليل الجزيئية يفيد الكونترول الإيجابي الضعيف القريب من حد الكشف أكثر من الكونترول القوي، لأنه يظهر أي تراجع صغير في الحساسية.
Definition
A material containing the target at a known level that is taken through the run to show the assay can detect it. In molecular testing a weak positive control near the limit of detection is more useful than a strong one, because it reveals small losses of sensitivity.
