حد الكشف هو أدنى كمية من المادة المقيسة يمكن تمييزها بثقة عن حد الناصع، بحيث تُكشف في نحو 95% من القياسات وفق CLSI EP17. تدل النتيجة الأعلى منه على وجود المادة، لكنها قد تبقى أقل إحكاماً من أن تُصدر كرقم دقيق.
Definition
The limit of detection is the lowest amount of analyte that can be reliably distinguished from the limit of blank, being detected in about 95% of measurements (CLSI EP17). A result above the LoD shows the analyte is present, but it may still be too imprecise to report as an exact number.
