التعريف
المئين هو القيمة التي تقع تحتها نسبة محددة من البيانات، فالمئين 95 هو القيمة التي تقل عنها 95% من النتائج. يُحدد المجال المرجعي عادة بالمئين 2.5 والمئين 97.5 لنتائج أفراد أصحاء، ويُتابع به زمن التسليم أيضاً، كأن يُسلَّم 90% من تحاليل الطوارئ خلال ساعة.
Definition
A percentile is the value below which a stated share of the data falls, so the 95th percentile is the value that 95% of results are below. Reference intervals are usually set at the 2.5th and 97.5th percentiles of healthy individuals, and turnaround time is often tracked the same way, for example 90% of urgent tests within an hour.
