التعريف
الكمية المقدرة من الأحياء الدقيقة التي تُدخل إلى وسط زرع أو نظام اختبار. في اختبار الحساسية يُعاير اللقاح عادة إلى معلق 0.5 ماكفارلاند، لأن اللقاح الكثيف يصغر مناطق التثبيط ويرفع قيم التركيز المثبط الأدنى.
Definition
The measured amount of microorganisms introduced into a medium or test system. In susceptibility testing the inoculum is standardized, commonly to a 0.5 McFarland suspension, because too heavy an inoculum makes zones smaller and MICs higher.
