مقاومة مضادات الأحياء الدقيقة قدرة الجراثيم أو الفطور أو الفيروسات على النمو رغم وجود دواء كان يثبطها. يكشفها المخبر باختبار الحساسية وتفسيره حسب حدود CLSI أو EUCAST، وبتحري آليات مثل بيتا لاكتاماز واسعة الطيف والعنقودية المقاومة للميثيسيلين، ويساعد تجميع النتائج سنويًا في توجيه المعالجة التجريبية في المشفى.
Definition
Antimicrobial resistance is the ability of bacteria, fungi or viruses to grow despite a drug that used to inhibit them. The laboratory detects it through susceptibility testing interpreted against CLSI or EUCAST breakpoints and by looking for mechanisms such as ESBL or MRSA. Pooling results each year helps guide empirical therapy in the hospital.
