السلبي الكاذب نتيجة سلبية لدى شخص يحمل فعلاً الحالة أو المادة المستهدفة بالتحليل. من أسبابه الشائعة أخذ العينة في فترة النافذة وتأثير الخطاف عند التراكيز العالية جداً وتلف العينة، وهو الخطأ الذي قد يؤخر العلاج.
Definition
A false negative is a negative result in a person who does have the condition or analyte being tested for. Common causes are sampling in the window period, the hook effect at very high concentrations and degraded samples, and it is the error that can delay treatment.
