الحساسية التشخيصية هي نسبة الأشخاص المصابين بالحالة المستهدفة الذين تكون نتيجتهم إيجابية، وتُحسب بقسمة الإيجابيات الحقيقية على جميع المصابين. التحليل الذي حساسيته 98% يفوت مريضين من كل 100 مصاب، لذلك تُختار التحاليل عالية الحساسية للتحري ولاستبعاد المرض.
Definition
Diagnostic sensitivity is the proportion of people with the target condition who test positive, calculated as true positives divided by all people with the condition. A test with 98% sensitivity misses 2 of every 100 affected patients, which is why highly sensitive tests are chosen for screening and ruling out disease.
