مستحضر صلب أو سائل من المغذيات يدعم نمو الأحياء الدقيقة، وقد يحتوي مواد انتقائية أو كاشفة. تُفحص كل تشغيلة من الوسط قبل الاستعمال للتأكد من عقامتها ومن قدرتها على إنماء السلالات المرجعية بالشكل المتوقع.
Definition
A solid or liquid preparation of nutrients that supports microbial growth, sometimes with selective or indicator substances. Each batch of medium should be checked before use for sterility and for the expected growth of reference strains.
