مجموعة من ممارسات الاحتواء والتجهيزات وتصميم المنشأة، متدرجة من BSL-1 إلى BSL-4، تُختار بحسب خطورة العمل. تعمل معظم المختبرات السريرية بمستوى BSL-2، ويحتاج زرع المتفطرة السلية إلى ممارسات BSL-3. يعتمد دليل منظمة الصحة العالمية لعام 2020 متطلبات أساسية وتدابير معززة قائمة على المخاطر، مع بقاء مصطلحات BSL شائعة.
Definition
A set of containment practices, equipment and facility design, graded from BSL-1 to BSL-4 and matched to the risk of the work. Most clinical labs work at BSL-2, while culture of Mycobacterium tuberculosis needs BSL-3 practices. The 2020 WHO manual uses risk-based core requirements and heightened control measures, though BSL terms remain in wide use.
